i am (mostly) moved. the place i got the truck from re-imbursed me $10 for the extra gas i put in (which was only $5.) and they were so very nice just in general. the other places i called were not helpful at all, but these guys totally took care of me and it was great. i am always impressed with people who treat customers so well and in a genuine way.
i've been doing interviews for part-timers lately and the thing that i stress every time is that we don't work on commission. yes, we want to make our goals, but there's absolutely no reason to push anything on anyone or to be dishonest. if someone comes out of the dressing room looking hideous, tell them so. one guy i interviewed kept saying the word "schmooze" and i could tell that was what he was doing to me. he pretty much expected me to offer him the job right then and there because i was supposed to be soooo impressed with him. nope. sorry. next! he seemed very nice, but schmoozing is not genuine.
anyway. i'm all in. the pussies are here and making themselves at home. i came home from paying for the uhaul and they were sitting in the window watching me walk up. it was soooo cute. hopefully redviolet's kitty adjusts soon. i've seen far worse behavior when cats are introduced to each other (roni was an asshole to thor at first), so i'm not too worried. the boys are generally mild-mannered.
unfortunately the place is a fucking wreck and there's still a bunch of stuff at the old place to get out, but... eh. it'll get done in good time. hopefully we can at least get the living room situated tonight when i get off work. my friends did eventually come through for me, though not before i had a slight breakdown about it all.
anyway.
off to work.
i just had a burrito, so it'll be fun bodily function day with the boss, i'm sure.
oooh! and my mommy's coming next week! and the bean will be here soon, too. i'm so excited. things are looking up despite some of the crappy stuff. i got to have dinner with my two sisters, the husbands, and the little ones yesterday and that was very... rejuvenating, i think. nothing's quite like family, i guess.

I wish I worked on commission...I sell about $200,000 of groceries a week...that would be some sweet as cash
