Really sad to read of the passing of Wayne Shorter, at the age of 89. If you’re much of a jazz cat, you’ll most likely be familiar with his extraordinary body of work, both as a session player with many other legends, as well as his own releases as a band leader. The terms “legend” and “icon” are maybe thrown around a little frivolously these days, but this man was the real deal. I’m spinning some old vinyl tonight in his honour… this track is on the streaming platforms… it’s a melancholy tune that I feel fits right now … Check it out if you feel so inclined.
