Having grown up in the 70s in Atlanta, the Allman Brothers towered above nearly every other act in my musical mix. They were authentic bluesmen who could jam with anyone. Duane Allman and then Barry Oakley's untimely passings cut short what could have been an epic body of work But Gregg was always at the core. He wrote most of the songs. His gravely voice and classic Hammond B3 keyboard work made for many memorable moments in the day. Here's one of his earliest compositions and still one of my favorites. RIP Gregg. Duane and Barry and Butch have been waiting to jam like this again.
