Max is Home
Thank you all my friends who labored through that mess of a blog my my cell in the hospital.
Everyone says we're lucky. To discharge Max the Chief of Surgery had to look at him. He had a hard time finding us because he was sure we had to be in the ICU. He said he's never seen a recovery so quick and so thorough from a drowning victim - he's never seen one who stopped breathing who did not have to be in the ICU.
Having a hard time feeling the luck, though it is damn good Max is fine.
Everyone is worried about me, Even the CPS social worker took my wife aside and said she was worried about me - "Is your husband OK? He seems devastated."
I am the man. The father. The protector. My son drowned feet from me.
It is my responsibility to keep my family safe from harm.
Worry about them.

Sometimes we can't be there to protect the ones we love from life, sometimes we
can only be there to guide them, teach them and sometimes to bring them back around.
You did good, damn fucking good.
and your son is still alive because of it.
Now go smoke a cigar and mellow. Seriously.
