I leave tomorrow to head back home. My mom was really surprised to see us...she started crying she was so happy. I love my family, but I'm really glad I'm only here for the weekend. I can only take my family in small doses before I start to go insane. I've been pretty busy though this weekend. My parents are TERRIBLE with technology, so I'm basically their own private IT guy. I spent the whole weekend reformatting two computers and optimizing and teaching my mom how to use her new Mac. We had a surprise party for my mom tonight. All of the neighborhood came to the restaurant, so there were about 30 of us there. There were 2 or 3 other birthday parties there, and this big party of black people got the ENTIRE restaurant to clap along and sing happy birthday...it was pretty fucking amazing. And there was this cute old black man with a beautiful voice who wrapped up the whole thing. I do get to go to my favorite store ever before I come home. While my mom and sister are at a quilt making class, I get to go to a Half Price Books store. I LOVE them. I usually end up coming out with a box full of books, and still have not spent a lot of money. I just hate that I have to drive 3.5 hours after I land tomorrow night, so I won't get home until around midnight. Bleh.

I hear ya, I can only take my family in small doses as well. I'm the black sheep of the family so I feel a little out of place at times, unless my grandparents are around, they don't judge me. Half Price Books is awesome, I used to go to the one in MN when I lived there...I miss it, there isn't one around where I live now.
