I'm a recent member and so far I am definitely digging it. I've been made to feel extremely welcome. So I suppose I should put a bit more about myself out there beside the check in the box profile stuff. Obviously I like looking at beautiful women or I wouldn't be here to begin with. I am very much a red blooded hetero-sexual male but completely secure with my sexuality and never feel threatened by anyone else's.
I am currently very much single. I have had a ridiculous amount of bad luck in the romance department. I either meet the right girl at the wrong time or the wrong girl at the worst time. The former just sucks when it happens but it is always better to love and loose. The latter usually leads to needing therapy or becoming a hermit for long periods afterward. I am the type of person that doesn't fall in love easily but I fall hard when I do. I have learned the hard way to view relationships as a partnership that both parties have to be willing to work at and not look for someone to complete me. People should be able to complete themselves. If you can't do that then you are most likely going to get hurt really bad or you are going to hurt someone else. I feel there is a big difference between someone that compliments you and someone completing you. Complimenting means that someone enhances your life and perhaps adds things you may not even know you were missing. Completing means that you were not whole to begin with. Everybody wants to find someone that is their 'happily ever after' but you should avoid situations that will end like a Greek tragedy.
I own my house and live a alone with my dog, Sally. She is the single sweetest canine you will ever meet. I know a lot of people feel that way about their dogs but it is very much the truth and not bias in my case. Sally loves everyone and everything. She is the kind of dog people fight over looking after if I need it. Even cats that are terrified of dogs will get over that around Sally. My dog is best described as pure joy covered in fur.
Career wise I have been in the food industry for over 20 years. I have worked in every type of restaurant imaginable and held every type of position. Currently I ply my trade at a very nice retirement community and its the best gig I've ever had. Great hours, good environment, creative freedom, solid pay, full benefits, retirement plan, etc.
I am very much a smart jock. I love sports, working out, practicing martial arts and doing extreme activities. An the other hand I am very much an super nerd with a huge comic book collection. My DVD rack is 80% Fantasy/Sci-fi and half of those are animated. The rest is made up of science/nature documentaries. Last but not least I am an avid table top role-player, mainly Pathfinder and D20 Modern. I have a real sweet miniature collection I have been building for some time now. I'm the kind of guy that is down with watching hockey or slaying orcs so I feel pretty well rounded.
Politics, religion, blah, blah, blah. The war on drugs hasn't worked. The war on terror will never end. Prisons should be a place where violent sociopath/psychotic criminals are locked away permanently and not a place to remove the poor or politically undesirable. You should be allowed to own a gun but no one needs to own an assault rifle. We are a society of reactionaries rather than a nation actively attempting solve our problems. We all have a common evolutionary ancestor and we are all of one race, the human race. No one in this world should be starving because there is plenty of food to share. Everyone is entitled to their religious beliefs but they end where mine begin and vice versa. Excuses are actually the thing that is like assholes because most opinions are some else's people have latched onto because they don't know how to form one of their own.
I think that should do it for now. If anyone wants to know anything else feel free to ask. Again I want to thank everyone that has made me feel at home here.
