Went to Louisville to see A Perfect Circle last night. Great show, but I saw more of Maynard's ass crack than I did of his face. I really couldn't tell the difference though.
HOWEVER I was really pissed because we got there late, and missed the opening band. At first, I didn't care, because I didn't even know who it was. Then I heard someone say Year of the Rabbit. I knew I wanted to see them for some reason, but I couldn't remember why. Then it hit me, Year of the Rabbit is Ken Andrews' new band. That pissed me off, I am the biggest Failure fan ever. I worship Ken Andrews.
Then, I got a second chance. Perfect Circle started to play their cover of "The Nurse Who Loved Me," I thought for sure Ken would come out and sing it with them, he did write the damn song. Then, heartbreak once again...Maynard said "Usually, our friend Ken Andrews comes out and sings this song with us. He wrote this when he was in the band Failure, but I'm not feeling too well tonight, and we figured it would be a train wreck if we tried that, because I can't even hear through my right ear." AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!! This was the closest I've ever come to an opportunity to see some semblance of Failure perform live, and I was cheated again.

Damn, I feel lucky! I've seen Year of the Rabbit twice this last summer and Failure once in the winter of 1997. Great to see another Failure Fan in Indy!
