I can't sleep.... and I'm bored. I've been listening to music for hours tonight and I figured I'd share a little with everyone...... and hopefully everyone will share a little with me, as I'm always looking for something new.
I absolutely love songs that are multilayerd and complex that they require tons of listens to catch all the subtle details..... NIN is famous for this sort of thing. Here's a few examples:
Radiohead - There, There
NIN - The Becoming (LIVE)
Beck - Lost Cause
- for such a simple song this song has some pretty intricate guitar picking/layering in it...... I absolutely love this song.
How about a few awesome cover songs:
Stone Sour - Wicked Game (Originally by Chris Isaak)
John Mayer - Bold as Love.... Live (Originally by Jimi Hendrix)
- Oh.... to be able to play the guitar like that.
Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World (Originally by David Bowie)
- will always be a fav. I just finished reading "Heavier Than Heaven"..... great book.
Okay.... how about a few tracks you probably haven't heard...... hmmmm:
Terra Naomi - Flesh for Bones (Live)
Glen Hansard - Falling Slowly (Once Soundtrack) YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE !!!!!!!!!
The Fratellis - Ole Black and Blue Eyes
- from their CD called "Costello Music"..... the whole CD is pure awesomness.
Bob Dylan - Things Have Changed
- Okay..... I know... Bob Dylan isn't exactly an obscure artist, but not many people have heard this tune.
Jack Johnson - Taylor
One more just for the fun of it:
Sonseed - Jesus is My Friend
- I stumbled upon this one the other day while searching for another song..... I think this one will become a classic.
