What a week. Finally 6 days off......yay. I know you're thinking..... "wow, 6 days, lucky you", but before you say it consider that I work 3, 12hr days, followed by 3, 12hr nights straight and that I wake up @ 5am for work and don't get home until 9:20pm......5pm & 9:20am for nightshifts. Not to mention that I drive a 6million dollar house on wheels @ 40 mph carrying 450 tonnes of dirt...... which can be pretty stressful @ times. Last night it was -40 C and the steam from the dirt and the exhaust made visibility horrible.
So yay...... time to read books, watch movies, serf the net and undwind.
I bought 5 new books, a dvd, downloaded some music, picked up a few magazines and a few muchies so I'm set.
I also had a brainfart that not only feeds my addiction, it also helps pay for it. I've always stated that I'm a media whore...... books, movies, music, magazines, web, t.v....... I can't get enough. So I took the title "media whore" and ran with it. I just registered www.mediawhore.ca, and I'm hoping to turn it into a hobby and a means to pay for the things I love. The great thing about a business (even one that isn't profitable) is that you can right off your expenses, and since I was going to buy the books, cd's, dvd's...etc, etc, anyways, what better way is there to do it?
It might be awhile b4 I have the site up and running..... probably 3mths+, but it gives me something interesting for me to sink my teeth into. I'm not sure exactly what the site will encompass as of yet, but the possibilities are pretty well endless.
Anyhoo, I'm off to enjoy some of my new purchases. Hope everyone else is doing well.
P.S: Here's a few new discoveries of mine:
The Respectables - SUGAR <---- iTunes Link.
Scar Night - By: Alan Campbell
This book rocked. If your a fan of any kind of fantasy book: LOTR, Dragonlance, ect.... you will love this book. It's a very dark tale, with a little more gore than your typical fantasy novel. The characters are interesting, especially the villains. I also loved the take on their religion and the conflict which arises from it, This is Alan Campbell's first novel, but it was a phenomenal one. I just ran out and purchased the follow up to it titled "Iron Angel". Trust me you won't be disappointed
I also picked up
The Pitchfork500: Our Guide to the Greatest Songs From Punk to the Present.
This book alone should keep me busy for awhile
