I have not had a cigarette in 3 days, 10 hours, and 37 minutes. I have not killed anyone yet. I am jumping out of my skin.

So, we had our first points race today, the 'Buck Carlisle Memorial'. It's a coastal race, and one of the club's most important of the year (big silver perpetual cup and all). It was our 3rd race, and the second that we finished. The wind was 5-10 and mostly SSE, seas were 2-4. We're still racing JAM, as I'm still learning the boat, and we've...

I've been a busy, busy girl! I bought a new boat, and I had her trucked from Cape Coral, on the west coast, to Ft. Lauderdale almost two weeks ago. She came off the trailer at Lauderdale Marine Center for some updates, and a few repairs.
She splashed last friday, and re-rigging the mast and standing rigging went smoothly. The eastbound trip down the New...

Maybe he just didn't want to open the bridge. I've never sailed salt but I hear they can be finicky.

Nice to see another sailer on here. (Although I havn't sailed in 2+ years...I still have it in me.)

Sailing good. Work bad. Sympathy about my mother every 2 minutes, worse.
ralphonso:
I agree, sailing definitely is fun. I haven't been for MANY years, and last time was in the UK where its darn cold if you capsize. Was still fun though smile

my dear Lady!
I am only now just able to have enough access to this wonderful SG world,
and enough energy to check on how everyone's doing.
I'm so sorry I missed the mournful news of your dear beloved's passing..
I was dealing with the passing of my own father.
I hope you're doing alright thru the situation.
Lemme know if there's anything I can help you with..
my thoughts and prayers include your family as well.

My mother's memorial service was this past Saturday. We had it in the meeting room of her favorite place, Crystal Visions. Yes, my pretties, a new age bookstore. At least 75 people attended, and Jackie B., her minister and my fairie godmother presided. My husband and a close friend performed the decidedly non-religious musical selections, including 'Fire and Rain', and I hired a bagpiper for...

I'm sorry for your loss.

My Aunt is kind of in the same postion...she is getting older but she keeps adopting children...she will never be able to retire
ralphonso:
I'm glad you had a nice send off, seems like it was a very celebratory memorial. Thats definitely the best way.

The Witches of YaYa.

they do exsist.
ralphonso:
I'm originally from the UK and where I come from "Ya-Ya"s are another name for boobs. So Witches of Boobs sounds good to me smile

My mother died on Sunday night at 8:20 pm. I'd been there all day, but left to go get some food, and I missed her passing. She had her family with her all day, and it was very peaceful. I'm so glad it's over.
ralphonso:
Our thoughts continue to be with you at this time. Anything we can do, just ask.
dr_pwnage:
so sorry...bless you

So, here I am in Asheville. Major snow is expected over the next couple of dats, just as my husband is driving up from Lauderdamndale to be with me. Good thing he drives a jeep.

Mom has been in hospice for a little over a week now, and the change in her health when I see her after a few hours of being away is...

I'm glad things are starting to look up for you, at least generally. A being in a Hospice can be a double-edged sword, seems like you got the good side this time, at least mostly.

We wish you and yours all the best.

I've been crazy busy getting this job done, but the boat is finished, and the owner is happy. I am exhausted, and sunburned. But the check will be large, so wheeeeeee!

On a more somber note, it seems like my mother isn't going to beat the cancer this time. I'm waiting right now for a call from her friend Jackie B. to tell me what...

So! the evil modem is functioning again!

The weather has been just icky enough, that I haven't been able to work. Varnish and drizzle don't mix. Having the days off might be nice, if I didn't have to finish the job to get paid.
