Dear @rambo and @missy, thank you for this topic! I think it will be useful for every person who is being bullied on the web (and not only), and there are many.
First of all, we should remember that there are full of pc-lions out there, people who are able to kill you from behind a computer and could never even say "Hello" in real life. I think that those people are bullying someone only because they are trying to be considered, and there is no other way they know. I absolutely don't know how to help them, and many of them don't even want to be helped, so I just ignore them.
Many other are real haters: people who are not able to see some good in somebody, who are only able to judge and always think the worst of someone. The worst kind of hater is the one who pretends to be your friend, I had one once... I tried so hard to keep a friendship with her, even if she was always telling me that I was doing it wrong, that she knew the way, that she was better than me at school, that her boy was better than mine, that her everything was better and better and better, and I was soooo stupid for not try to be like her! I think I was stupid, yes, but for letting her in my life. When I finally decided to let her go and stop texting her, my life changed: I got some self esteem and I started thinking "Hey, I'm not that bad! I can do this!"
I know I am not the only one who had a hater friend, and my advise for all who are still friends with them is: LET-THEM-OUT-OF-YOUR-LIFE.
There is no way they can change and start being real friends to you, just deal with it. Even if you really care about them, even if you feel like they care about you (and they maybe do, I don't think they know they are haters), even if you really think that they are saying such bad things only for your own good... Let them go. I cannot describe the feeling you have when nobody destroys your thoughts with no reason, but it's such a good feeling.
So my advice is: keep on your own path, judge by yourself and, if you feel that is the one you want to walk, walk it, no matter what others will say. If somebody is saying bad things with no reason, with no advices, with no content, ignore them. If somebody is telling you some reasons why you should not walk that path, advising you some other for some reason, listen to him and evaluate by yourself, but never forget to listen to people who are telling something for real, and try not to confuse haters and people with advices.
I hope it was useful for at least somebody!
A big hug to you all,
Brunhild
