i have just watched the bbc documentary about the british troops in afghan an the those who get injured come to selly oak in birmingham!. i work in the trauma theatres in selly oak an have seen many a soldier come in, but tonight has really hit me hard because the past few years at ive been been at uni with soldiers training to do what i do but on the frontline!! i have always seen these people as very good an amazing mates in civilian terms but because im not military myself i have never thought of them on the frontline.i watched the documentary an all of a sudden realised that now we have all qualified that these people fighting on the frontline are my very very close friends, an all of a sudden i thought i could be working in trauma 1 day down selly oak an it could be a very close friend that could be in front of my eyes, this brought a massive tear to my eye and i hope that all my friends goin to afghan soon all the best an will hopefully see them all very soon an safe back in england
sorry if this has been a boring read for u all but its a close thing to my heart
