It's really late, I'm kind of delirious, and I'm finishing up the bibliography for an intro to library science project that's due tomorrow and the first song that pops up on my itunes shuffle is Jacques LuCont's Thin White Duke Remix of Mr. Brightside by The Killers.

Fuck off, I like it. Any band that name's themselves after an obscure New Order reference and stands...

Kinda personal question, here, but has anyone here ever been homeless? The reason I ask is because on my way out of the grocery store today I notice a girl not too much younger than I am with a sign reading that she's broke, traveling, and hungry with absolutely no money to her name. Not to sound like an asshole, but I generally don't give...

sirkka:
i've been to three 90's parties in the last two years.
not only do they exist, but they are RAMPANT in fucking college towns.
hedy:
i don't know where the pizza monster is in that list...best villain ever!

and yes, that girl is traveling across country, probably to an anarchist non-gathering. and yes, you're probably a terrible person for only giving to a person who looks like somebody you could know. kiss

but we all just do what we can. i know that you're supposed to give money to shelters and such instead of giving change to people on the street, but i still give when i can. i don't particularly care what they spend it on (after all, if you're an addict drugs are as important to you as food...) i just think that after years or decades of seeing human beings asking for money and not giving anything, even when you have change just sitting in your pocket, your heart hardens to the point where you're not much use to anybody anymore. so, to make a long story short, good for you. kindness is way underrated.

I may be dating myself, here, but the first two songwriters/artists I really remember getting into growing up was The Boss (Bruce Springsteen) and New Order. Despite these initial first impressions, though, I don't think any band has ever had a bigger influence on me than Joy Division.

...it's almost scary, to be honest.

It's been three years and I still can't listen to "Atmosphere"...

joy division is probably one of the bands that shaped me the most as a youngin. even more than the smiths.

When I first got my hands on a bootleg of this movie, I watched it every day for, like, a week.

I swear to God, in another life I musta been born a teenage girl or something...

Years and years ago back when I was still in college I had this dream that I remember more vividly than dreams I've had as recently as last night. I was taking this cross country road trip with this girl I was seeing at the time and for whatever reason we were dressed to the nines, her in this semi-formal summer dress and heels and...

Wed, 5/26: DJ'd Burlington. Could not have fit in less. While the other guys were playing metal, here I was playing '60s pop/soul, Brit-pop, post-punk, and other pop faves.

Thur, 5/27: class then drinking at a friends house. Discovers that he is already behind in his reading.

Fri, 5/28: road trip to Milwaukee to dj a friend's wedding the following day. More drinks upon arrival....

So I know I posted this video before, but I just got home from a nudie bar for a bachelor party and while I was impressed by the girl who danced to a Strokes song, I have to reiterate that I would happily be a slave to any girl who chose to dance to the following:

Jarvis just sexes anything up.

Two things I learned about myself tonight:

1.) I somehow manage to piss an ex-girlfriend off so much that my mere presence infuriates her. I don't get it! I got over whatever issues we had years ago and I try to be as accommodating as humanly possible whenever she's around, so I don't understand what I'm doing!

2.) I actually found myself getting slightly turned...

being tall is way overrated. i had a tall science teacher in high school that nicknamed me and the other shortest person in class as midgets. we nicknamed ourselves team short power, with the motto "your kneecaps are in danger." [it was all good mutual teasing though. no hurt feelings haha.]
seriously, anyone that gives you shit about being short, just tell them their kneecaps are in danger. watch how fast they take it back hahahaha.

shine serum for hair is the biggest secret to getting it to behave. use a little when it's towel-dried and style it normally, and it should comply with whatever you want to do to it. i've done this with virtually every hair type and it always works beautifully. smile

as for getting rid of your gut, eat more yogurt and raspberries and maybe do a few crunches. my stomach always shrinks like crazy when i add more raspberries to my diet.

also, best fucking soundtrack ever. i wish i knew who scored it but i can't find anything online anywhere!. frown
