GAWD, I'm bored.
Had been planning to go down to the Rat and Parrot tonight with some friends...there was supposed to be some "internet dating" thing going on there, and we figured that at worst it would make for a good laugh...moreover assembling a bunch of drunk single girls in one place didn't sound like the worst thing ever to me...
But when I got home from the Stamps game tonight, I called Kyrst to make sure that people were actually there. I was informed that in addition to people, Catherine was also there. As fun (read: awkward) as it would be to hang out with her while she actively seeks another guy, I opted not to go. Still haven't talked to her since the unpleasantness, and frankly it's starting to look like I might be able to pull off never seeing her again (all I have to do is sacrifice my own social life apparently)
Chris was to be my backup plan. He had told me he'd give me a call when his hockey game (he's now the general manager of a midget hockey team...he's totally the dude who shows up without having any relation to any of the kids on the team...I know, CREEPY). But he never called back. Neither did Corrente. She was supposed to call after the game, but she's obsessed with her new boyfriend (fair enough).
And now I sit here, updating my "blog". What an evening. Meh, at least the Stamps won and clinched a playoff spot.
Had my precandidacy meeting with my PhD committee on Monday. Roland thought it went very well. Warren kinda picked me apart ("Well, the bare bones of a PhD proposal are there..."), but that's kinda his schtick. Now this week I have to write my NSERC proposal. What's worse is the fact that I'm convinced that I don't have a chance of getting NSERC funding anyways since I have no publications, but my grades are good enough, so I need to waste my week writing the damned proposal. GAH, sometimes I hate grad school.
Started teaching last Friday...one of my students went on a rant about "bangers"...mentioning the "kind of people that go to a Judas Priest show"...I laughed...mwahaha. He doesn't know it but he just failed the lab (jk).
Well I think that's updated enough for now...until the next time I'm bored as hell.
Rock to you later.
