Weekly update time...
Life goes on while she's miles away (bad Poison reference)...
Chris went out for beers with her last week. Apparently she wanted to know how I was doing. How should I be doing? I don't know. For now, it's just so much easier, to keep her at a distance, and well out of my life
.Found out how to get Samuel L Jackson to call all my friends ("I know this may sound crazy, but Snakes on a Plane might just be the best motion picture ever made!")...managed to kill some time with that. The chemistry is moving, albeit slowly.
Went to a houseparty last Friday (seriously, how old am I?). Grant and I ran into the one dude in this entire city of 1 million that he was trying to avoid. Shitty for Grant, amusing for me
.
Ended up in an animated discussion as to the top 3 death-metal albums of all time with a group of ~10 metalheads...decided mid-conversation that there could be no doubt. That was definitely the most Metal-thing happening in Calgary at that moment in time. Apparently there had been a thrash band playing in the dude's garage earlier that evening too.
Went to the Stamps game on Saturday. Had a fantastic time. Nothing like beating the only undefeated team in the league (Montreal) on the last play of the game...especially when you're going out for beers with some new grad students who just moved from la belle province after the game. Had a good time at the Kilkenny...rubbed salt in the Montrealers wounds (not literally), and caught a ride home with Chris.
Decided to head back to the mountains on Sunday. It's a fantastic distraction, and I missed the thrill of climbing, and the beauty and power you find at a summit more than I realized. Dragged Gord up Ha Ling (formerly Chinaman's peak) in Canmore.

Got right to the summit. GOD looking over that rock wall from the top is terrifying...
Another couple pics...one of me just before the final ascent, and one of me perched on the top

We ran down the whole thing on the way back...now my quads are killing me...
Got a little daring on the SG "boards"...I don't know what compelled me to do that.
Think I might go camping next Friday. It'd be at the same spot Catherine and I went on May-long...not too sure if that will stir up some potentially painful memories or not...I guess I shouldn't let that stop me though...that is unless I decide to catch some Snakes on a Plane action that night...wouldn't want to let Sammy J. down...
Promised that I'd go to a friend's gf's cousin's kegger (for her b-day) on Saturday. Last time I was at her place, I wrote a bunch of Manowar quotes in the bathroom (they have a whiteboard)...apparently now her little brother idolizes Manowar...with any luck, I can steer him in even more ridiculous directions this time.
And I've got my big double-date on Sunday! Grant and I are taking our mom's to see Hall & Oates...Should be fantastic
