Alison gets here in just over 24 hours! In honor of that yumminess I present you with a few pictures of my deatest, darlingest, divinest Alison:
She's beautiful and brilliant and the only person I know who can keep up with me in the Naughty department. We have entirely too much fun when we get together. The fine folks in Glasgow (who have been so kind as to organize us ladies a soiree in celebration of our trip to Scotland on the condition that we smuggle in Hershey bars) will never know what hit them. I feel so loved! Bru with the SCScotlan group! Yippie-i-A!
A few pictures from my extensive week of touristing with the parents and several of the siblings:
I felt my body going into hypoglycemic shock just being that close to that much candy. Bad bad bad for any diabetics in the house:
I love this ferris wheel. If you haven't been to the Toys'r'Us in Time Square to ride this one...you're lame. Go. Do it. It's fun. Word to the wise...(and this from someone who loves loves loves rollarcoasters)...when they reverse you and you start to go around backwards...damn. I got so dizzy.
I wandered around the streets of NYC with the folks and all I could think about was how much I'm going to miss this place. How much I love it. How much it has really become my home. Now I feel like I *need* to get in at least one more run to all of my favorite spots before I leave. I know that I'll be back one day...hopefully as soon as I finish law school...but you never know... Plus, a dear friend and I have always thought about buying an island together and building the Ultimate Putt-Putt course. I guess you Yankees call it Miniture Golf...
The movers will pick up all my stuck over Memorial Day weekend and haul it to Atlanta where it will move into our new place. I'll work through June and then fly to NC for July and part of August. I'll get to meet all the fabulous SGNCers that Idjiit bragged about. I'm definitely looking forward to that! Then, sometime in August, I get in my new car (which I have to get once I get to NC) and drive to Atlanta. I'm trying not to think about the move just yet since I have tons to keep me busy right now but there is so much to do that I really can't not think about it. There will be a going away party. I'll list that up in SGNY in the not so distant future...even though I haven't met but so many of you in person...no time like the present...and I have a case of vodka to drink up before I leave! :::wink:::
Wednesday night I'm DJing the New York Team In Training kick-off bash for the NYC branch of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I've done a fair amount of volunteer DJing for their events over the last two years. I can't run a marathon anymore (my back injury just won't allow that) but my old roommate ran a few for them and I help out whenever I can. I can DJ and so I contribute that "skill" whenever I can. I have a few friends that train for marathons and triathlons with TNT and they always have a great time. It's a pretty awesome program.
Currently, I'm sitting in the sun outside in front of the Brooklyn Museum of Art listening to the awesome water fountain/sculpture that they put in last year and taking advantage of their free wireless since it is officially (according to me) the most beautiful day of the year so far and since the wireless is unexplainedly out in my apartment. (Atlanta can't possibly beat this...) Plus, I need some sun on my nose. Of course, by tomorrow I'll resemble a lobster. :o) Ummmm...lobster...
Which brings me to my newfound monster appetite. :::tummy rumbles:::
If you haven't already...go check out Iggy's newest set and then go give major hugs and love to Girlie and tmronin -- I can't wait to get some Girlie on my face! Make sure you check out her amazing new ink, too... Meow!
A is down to one final...then he's graduation bound and on to taking the bar exam. We're going to be Georgians by the end of the summer. In celebration he asked me to pick up a copy of The History of the World, Part I because I've quoted it so many times and he'd never seen it. So I dig up my Blockbuster card (having closed out my Kim's membership in anticipation of the move) and marched over. They didn't have it. They DIDN"T HAVE IT?!!! As in they didn't have it in their system and the two people working there had never hear of it...and they didn't know who Mel Brooks was. My god. Sad. So very sad.
Hitchhikers Guide tomorrow with the adorable and much missed luna
xoxoxo I've had way too much sun already.
Twinkie makes me giggle.

Leaving? Did I miss something? When are you leaving, and where are you going?
