Granted, my parents did make me go to Jerry Falwell's university for a semester but still...
This morning I got into a "fight" with my mother about the Sharivo case.
I say give the husband a divorce and give the woman into the custody of the people who want to take care of her. He gets to go live his new life with his gf and children. The family gets what they want. And no one dies. And what about Terry? Well, sorry, but unless you have a living will then you're at everyone else's mercy and so you get the "benefit" of the doubt that you'd probably want to live.
Now, my mother is a very very very religious person. I'm not sure why I even brought it up with her because she doesn't follow news like this and she's just going to tow the "party" line, but still... Now I feel tired and frustrated.
That was at 5:45am and by the time I got to work I was still feeling tired so I did a quick check of the e-mail to handle anything urgent and then ran to the gym. After a quick 45 minutes on the elliptical I feel untired, if not perky and well...decent. It has been a week since I was at the gym since you aren't allowed to "raise your heartrate" for a week after the LASIK surgery (we'll just ignore that one time...it was really out of my hands...wink) and I've been really good about avoiding anything that might get the ticker ticking. But god, it feels good to go to the gym.
I'm reading Kundera's The Book of Laughter and Forgetting. I love Kundera so much. So so so so so much. I feel like a page does go by without some line jumping out and lasoing my emotions and twirling them above my head. The combination of his (apparent) simplicity of style and the intensity of what he says just...takes...my...breath...away... And we all know how much I love that feeling. *giggle*
I just got Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio on board for a panel I'm going next week. Nothing like last minute, but I swear, everyone EVERYONE everyone is on tour right now. Everyone.
AND...
If you contemplated it (which I doubt) do not see SAW. I could list the flaws but it was take me longer to list them all than the 90 minutes it took those morons to make them on film. If you're going to make a movie that is basically shot in one location with two guys chained up then at least hire someone who can write dialogue. What an utter waste of film, money and effort. Cary Elwes has become the worst actor in the world and Danny Glover is charging him for that distinction. There were no reedemable qualities in the filming, directing or editing. The writing was inept and inane and the twist in the story was about as surprising as finding fat people at a buffet. I think they should saw the writers hands off in punishment.
The people that cut the trailer deserve an award for making it look like a viable movie.

MMmmmm! A tropical fish comforter sounds heavenly...safer and warmer than the ocean, too. You look a bit like Beth Orton in your profile photos...or maybe I am just being influenced by the sound of her voice coming out of my computer right now.
