I think I've figured it out...the crocheting that is. I grabbed a seat on the train this morning and within two stops an older lady had taken a seat across from me and was crocheting. Being the social creature that I am (and fearless) I moved over next to her and struck up a conversation. I think she was a little surprised to see me pull out a ball of yarn and a crochet hook. What? Just because I'm a little cute I can't be domestic? Actually, I think it was the tattoo on my hand that surprised her...probably because I colored it in last night when I was talking to my mentor on the phone. (I have a heart tattoo on my right hand -- my best-friend and I got matching ones before she moved to Florida last fall. Her idea was that we could color them in to match whatever we were wearing. She was joking. I think.) Anyway, the tattoo lends itself extremely well to doodle-pad when I'm bored (and I have a lot of meetings at work -- ie. bored.)
Anyway, I love New York City. Where else could I meet a new person on my commut to work and get excellent crocheting tips? It was wonderful. Then again, I'm an unabashed NYC groupie.
Today is my first day back to the gym after getting my tattoo. It just hurts too much when I get warm. It is fully to the itchy-itchy stage. :::rubs up against chair back::: I feel about itching the way "normal" people feel about pain. I guess. Anyway, no gym since Friday makes me an edgy gal. Need that rush. Need to get out of my office. :::giggle::: (I'm on a conference call as I write this -- conference calls are perhaps the biggest waste of time ever dreamed up by the business world.)
So tonight I'm 1) cleaning the apartment for Saturday, 2) baking a huge carrot cake for Saturday, 3) watching the Apprentice (while cleaning and baking) even though this season leaves me disappointed, 3) making party favors for my guests and 4) working on my crocheting. I'm making a turtle that I will stuff and it will live on my bed. Then I'm going to make a baby blanket for my friend's soon-to-be newborn munchkin.
