Home Again, Home Again
I have to admit that I live a very charmed existance right now...and have for many months. I love to travel around and I've been all over the place in the last several months. idolmaker and I joke that we haven't been "anywhere" unless we've crossed a state line in the journey and we've done a love of stateline crossing.
But I'm really happy to be home again. I woke up this morning and just felt...really happy to be home.
Guess who got to go to the U. S. Open Snowboarding Championships a few weeks ago? Yep, me. idolmaker got to borrow Rupert the Camera for the weekend and here is one of the pictures that he took:
It was astounding to see those youngin's hurl themselves up and off of a 30+' wall of icy snow. I swear you could hear it 100 yards away when they'd fall. Got to see all the bigshots: Shaun White and Hannah Teter and the rest of them.
idolmaker, being the ever "connected" one, had access to all the parties and VIP stuff so while he chatted up the snowboarding biggies I honkered down with a back-country snowboarding photographer. I'm completely amazed at the stuff that those photographers get. Not only is it insanely cold most of the time (technically issues) but they have to GET to these locations, which means that they have to be really great snowboarders themselves and on top of that...they have to get the shot. Period. There aren't any "can you do that again" shots with a lot of these locations and tricks. Just amazing. So I had lots of fun.
That is pretty much going to be the last trip for me for the next three weeks and I'm actually happy about that. It hit me sometime yesterday...I was just really homesick to be...well, home for awhile. I'm booked up every weekend this month all of a sudden. Headed to Seattle, WA April 19-25 to see my best-friend and finally meet the beautiful and lovely Bunny. We're going to play camera together...I'm very excited!
Breakfast
We just got back late, late last night from visiting idolmaker's parents. They are lovely people and made me feel very at home. His mother and I spent most of yesterday sewing curtains for the apartment since one of the neighbors seems to like to play peeping Tom a little now and again. They're rather pimp. You'd have to see them to understand. A picture will be in order when they finally go up...
Time for some breakfast and off to work.
More Creations From the Closet...
Here is a picture of the dress that I said I whacked up and reinvented. It was special for me to take on my trip to Italy.
I bought some great felt when I was away this time...and more embroidary thread. Look out!
Oh, and guess who got into law school again?
