Wednesday's interview went okay, I guess. Of the 5 people I met with, I disliked 2 of them -- not a good start. I'm not sure why, but something about their personalities rubbed me the wrong way.
One guy avoided making eye contact -- that's a big turn-off for me. It wasn't in a rude way..like he was reading the paper...it was like he just had no social skills.
I also got the sense that I was a bit too aggressive for them, which is kinda of funny, but I am used to environments that are structured and where people are accountable for their work and finishing it in a timely manner. They call themselves a "start up" after being in business 5 years and shipping 20 products, BTW. NOT a good sign.
I shouldn't be picky though...I mean if they offer me a job, I'll take it, but I have a feeling I'd quit within a year. It's possible that I am the problem in the equation, but after spending 2+ years at my last job and 8 years at the job before that, I'd say I can be loyal and work well with others.
I dunno...the whole thing depresses me. Fortunately, today is the last day of a big trade show, so the peeps who I met with at the "big" company a week ago should be back in the office Monday. Oh man, if I get that job, I'll be so goddam happy. I can't wait to start, actually...if I don't get it, I'll be pretty bummed.
Shit, what else have I been doing? Well, it amuses me that my roommate has finally "discovered" magic brownies...at 33 years old. This guy is always complaining about cash, but now spending his money on dope. I don't have a problem with people doing it, but I just find it odd that he randomly started after being such a straight-edge. He always offers me some and I always say "no". I have enough vices...fucking snackfood and booze...I don't need to be stoner as well.
Something good...hmmm...something good. Well, I don't have anything "good" to talk about, but if "the company" calls...woohoo! I'm gonna party for like a week straight.
