So, 2 weekends ago, on Sunday, I rolled my right ankle. The following Monday morning I went to the emergency department (ER) at work and they flashed an x-ray of my ankle. They said there might be a slight fracture where the tendons attached to the bone, however it is slight and difficult to see with the given s-rays.
Education Time: The fracture is called an avulsion fracture and its happens when the tendons, which connect muscles to bones, take a little fragment(s) of bone with them when they're twisted. FANTASTIC.
Either way, I went to an Ortho doc for a check-up the following week and the front part of the foot was still tender so they flashed an x-ray of the front of my foot. And it turns out that I broke the fourth metatarsal bone. So now I'm wearing an aircast boot and I'm on crutches. I'll have to keep the boot on for the next 4 to 6 weeks...at least.
To make matters slightly worse, I'm going to the NIN concert in Orlando tomorrow (tuesday) and I have GA/floor tickets. Its not going to be great with the boot & crutches, but it'll still be a great time!!!
