I wanted the holidays to be over and now they are. I couldn't be happier. If that wasn't enough though, my job gave me a week off PAID. Yes! We are relaxing, playing Aion (a lot) and just taking care of those little nagging details that tried to overwhelm us the last two months of 2014.
My car is dead but I can revive it. My wife's car was beyond hope but we got a few hundred bucks for it and not a moment too soon. Our computers are also being squared away with new parts to replace the ones giving out and Windows 8.1 to replace the shitty Windows XDark v2.4 that we've been suffering with for the last... who knows how many years. At this point, once my car is fixed we are pretty much back on track. My wife lost her job but she really had no choice. It was plainly obvious they didn't give a shit about her and they made it nearly impossible for her to do her job so she told them to go fuck off. I'm really proud of her, she toughed it out and fought for herself like a champ. Unfortunately, her job was retail and you know how retail treats it's employees. We knew it was a loosing battle so we aren't sad she walked away. She's looking for a new job, preferably a work from home position and since our rent got dropped $115 a month (Boo yah!) we have a lot more breathing room month by month. We also found out that our income limit for the low income program we got our apartment under is higher than she will ever make working part time so we get to enjoy some financial security for the first time in our marriage.
2014 wasn't really a bad year but it definitely had its moments. 2015 is already off to an amazing start. We're going to ride the wave of optimism for as far as it will take us.
