This of course is sarcasm.
The holidays are finally over and I for one couldn't be more grateful. Every holiday season we get some bad news that results in the death of a family member and this year was no different. Last year we heard about my father in law developing cancer and the year before that my father started to suffer from massive pain in his hip which eventually turned out to be cancer as well. This year my wife's 98 year old aunt suffered heart failure and died the day after X-Mas.
Fuck X-mas.
I've pretty much decided the holiday season can fuck off and die and I hope when it gets to the afterlife my father kicks the shit out of it.
An avenue has opened up for me to present Shadows of the Bat to Kevin Smith directly and I'm jumping on it. Kevin hosts a podcast with Ralph Garman at the Hollywood Improv every Friday (approximately) and as it turns our we are going to be in SoCal one of those Fridays. The Friday of my birthday no less. :) The catch is finding someone to watch our daughter so that we can go to the show, thankfully I have a friend who is willing to help out with that. So once the arrangements are confirmed I'll be watching Kevin live and hopefully after the show, presenting him with my vision of Shadows. I still have absolutely no idea how he's going to react to it, I expect rejection but as I've said many times before I'm okay with that. Its an opportunity that is just too good to pass up.
Next on the docket is Animation on Display which I hope to get some networking done as well as attend a few Fan-to-pro panels. I'd like to attend one more con between that and Fanime but I'm not aware of any in my area at the moment. We'll just have to wait and see. Next year if all goes well enough and my webcomic starts to get a loyal following I'll have to make a trip our of state. I'm fans of some manga and anime fans on youtube and one of them has always been really friendly and open so maybe I'll go for the gusto and fly back to the east coast. It'll be my first time back there in fifteen years but if I can hook up with and make some new fans I think the exposure will make the expense worth it.
Look at me, I'm sounding like my webcomic is about to become my primary source of income. Maybe it should be?

I will cosplay this some day!
