Ten Years Later
Cindy waited outside the strip club for the dancers to emerge after closing. After nearly ten years of searching she knew that one of the dancers that was inside was the vampire that had saved her life. When Cindy woke up the next morning after being attacked without the incredible pain of the cancer that had threatened her life she wondered if the vampire had somehow cured her. Daniel confirmed two days later that the tumor was gone, somehow destroyed by the blood of the vampire. Cindy thought she was going to be killed by that wretched monster only to instead be saved and she became obsessed with finding out why. Her search had led her to a strip club that was ironically, only a couple of miles from where her late husband used to work.
Like the vampire life had been both generous and cruel to Cindy in the ten years since the attack. Nearly five years after they encountered the vampire Daniel had been shot and killed by a carjacker. Cindy was declared cured at about that same time so the news was bittersweet at best. Daniel's family, who had always felt that Cindy only married Daniel for his money immediately cut her off as best they could. She had been forced to sue them for her inheritance which she finally won but the legal and medical expenses had grown out of control. Cindy was forced to sell everything Daniel left her just to keep the creditors at bay. She took a sadistic amount of pleasure knowing that everything Daniel's family fought her so hard for was lost to them forever even if she could no longer have it either. It had never been about money for Cindy, she would gladly suffer the cancer again to have Daniel back. Even if only for an hour.
Dancers finally started leaving the club and Cindy watched them as they were escorted to their vehicles outside. None of them looked familiar but Cindy continued to wait long after the last one of them had left. She wasn't about to give up, ten years of searching had brought her to this club and she knew the vampire worked here. It was only a matter of time before they met.
Resigning herself to coming back another day Cindy got into her car and started the engine but before she could drive away the back door opened one more time and a very familiar looking woman left the club wearing nothing but high heels, a small handbag and a frown. Cindy killed the engine, jumped out of the car and ran up to the vampire and wrapped the woman up in a huge hug. The vampire looked shocked to see her but didn't move away.
“Hey! What the fuck are you doing?” the vampire protested.
“I finally found you! Thank you, thank you!” Cindy sobbed. The women broke apart and Cindy let her tears flow freely. The vampire just stared at her.
“Look lady, I don't do freebies. You want action it'll cost you. Now pony up or keep your fucking hands to yourself.” she protested.
“I wanted to thank you for saving my life.” Cindy told her.
“Fine.” the vampire replied coldly.
“Um. Thank you so much.” Cindy smiled wiping away tears.
“You done?” the vampire added.
“Can I at least offer you a ride home?” Cindy asked her. “I was hoping we could at least talk talk.”
“I think I remember you. Your husband offered me a ride home. Then he paid me $100 to fuck me in the backseat of his car.” the vampire told Cindy.
“I know. He told me.” Cindy told the vampire.
“At least he's honest.” the vampire smirked.
“I know you're trying to make me mad at you but it's not going to work. Daniel's dead. He was killed for that car you two fucked in over five years ago so its a little hard to get mad at him right now even for something like that. Besides, Daniel and I were swingers. If you wanted to fuck him all you had to do was ask.” Cindy told her getting frustrated.
“What do you want from me?!” the vampire screamed in Cindy's face. Her fangs popped out and her eyes glowed bright white as she screamed and Cindy had to take one or two steps back but she held her ground.
“I told you, I wanted to talk.” Cindy told her.
“If I accept your ride will you leave me alone?” the vampire asked.
“No.” Cindy replied crossing her arms over her chest.
“I don't understand you.” the vampire told Cindy.
“Pfft. You aren't making a whole lot of sense either honey. You brainwash my husband, sexually assault me and then cure my terminal cancer. Tell me how that makes sense?” Cindy told the vampire. For a long time the two women just stared at one another in silence.
“Look I'm all alone, Daniel's family disowned me, my own family is dead and none of my friends want anything to do with me now that I'm broke and can't model anymore. Maybe I'm desperate but in the last ten years you're the only person who has shown me anything resembling compassion. Can you blame me for trying to be friends?” Cindy pleaded.
“Where's your car?” the vampire sighed.
“Follow me.” Cindy took the vampire's hand and led her to the small, beat up used car that she bought after she was forced to sell the sedan Daniel had bought her. The vampire sat in the passenger seat while Cindy started the engine. As they drove down the road the vampire wordlessly pointed which way for Cindy to go.
“Want a smoke?” the vampire asked Cindy as they drove.
“Oh no thank you. Those things almost killed me once already.” Cindy held up hand and smiled as the vampire put the pack away not taking one for herself either.
“I'm Cindy. I guess I should have mentioned that when we first met.” Cindy introduced herself.
“Julie.” the vampire replied staring out the window.
“Nice to meet you.” Cindy said happily.
“Yeah right. You know I wanted to break up you and your husband right?” Julie replied angry.
“But you did something else. Something that in my mind outweighs what you did to us a hundred fold.” Cindy told Julie.
“Why don't you would hate me for attacking you?” Julie said through clenched teeth.
“Because you saved my life. Hey why not attack me again? Maybe this time I'll become rich?” Cindy chuckled. Julie looked at her quizzically.
“That was a joke.” Cindy told her.
“I thought you already were rich?” Julie asked Cindy.
“Nope. Broke as a joke. Had to sell the house to pay off some of the medical bills, had to file bankruptcy to get rid of the rest. Not much work for a model with only one breast you know?” Julie pointed to an apartment complex they were driving up to and Cindy parked the car outside.
