The Night
by: me
My weakened soul cries out in hunger, denied sustenance from a weary world as it withers in its somberness. My spirit is restless in its muse, seeking answers that never come. Her welcoming smile entices me to close my eyes.
I pray the Night holds me close. Caressing me with her gentle, cold embrace. I can almost feel her touching my withered soul as it slumbers beyond my reality. Her mesmerizing kiss, siphoning my will to wake. My mind is hazy, her love so dark.
Let me never rise from her soothing shroud. Let her never part from my yearning grasp. I pray the Night holds me tight and holds me dear. For I fear the morning will shatter this dream. When I'm with her, I never want to wake.
