hello kitty kats..
hope you are all well...
the IVU was just the weirdest experience of my life.. don't really want to go into details as i'd rather just forget the whole experience, but i would not wish that upon anyone to have to go through... least of all me
won't know the results for 2 weeks (don't you just love it
) so i have no idea what's wrong with me.. but i will keep you guys posted (please keep your fingers crossed for me that it's nothing too serious)
anyhoo... today i re-bought a few albums from my chilhood, including the very first album i ever bought when i was just 8 (bless!) "kings of the wild frontier" by adam and the ants. i also got "dirk wears white sox" and "prince charming" both also by adam and the ants and i got duran duran's first 2 albums "duran duran" and "rio". (all 4.99 each in HMV's latest never ending sale) i have been reminiscing all evening... and two thoughts struck me.......
firstly... where the fuck did all the time go..??????
secondly... stock, aitken and waterman must die a painfull and slow death and spend eternity in hell being arse fucked with red hot pokers by fuckin' rick astley....
they destroyed pop music with their "mcdonalds" shite pop!!
(now this is the part of the rant where i sound like an OAP) in my teen and pre-teen days of buying pop music..i bought music by adam and the ants, duran duran, frankie goes to hollywood, the cure, new order, the the, tears for fears, kraftwork, the art of noise, u2, sugar hill gang (i'll stop here cos this list could go on for ever).. most of which was considered "pop" in it's day.
not that you'll agree that these bands are amazing or your taste in music.. but my point is, that what was considered"pop" then is (if you could be bothered to listen to any of it) is verging on alternative in comparison to todays pop music... compare duran duran's first album with a westlife album, or tears for fears "the hurting" with a busted album, or adam and the ants with mcfly...
and before my time.. the beatles, stones, bowie, doors.etc etc all pop music......
what the fuck happened to pop music,,,?????
why is most pop these days either manufactured shit or from a "reality"? tv contest
and wouldn't it be scary if 15-20 years from now the then 30 somethings are saying the same as me about the state of pop music.... yikes!!!
why are the music buying population so brain dead..????
i want good old fashioned pop music again
rant over.. someone pass me my walking frame
i'll make sure that the next time i buy some music from my childhood i'll leave it a good couple of days before i post in my journal... so sorry for this post
take care pumpkins
see you soon

hope you are all well...
