So, two whole days of finger-poking in the bag. I think I'm getting used to it now and it doesn't hurt so much. They tell me I'm supposed to monitor my blood sugar for a week on a special deit, then they'll decide what kind of treatment (if any) that I need. I really hope I don't end up taking insulin. The thought of having to inject myself with a needle totally sucks.
On to some better news, a client called me this morning and I may have to work in Hawaii next month for a week. September is one of the best months to go, and I haven't been in a couple of years. I really hope I get the contract. Even with 12 hour work days, I think I could squeeze in some "me" time.
Today and the rest of the weekend will be more painting my house and cleaning. Yuck.

The fact they didn't put you on anything right away is a good sign. Chances are you'll just need to change your eating habits and say goodbye to hard alchohol and you'll be fine. Adult onset diabetes is usually pretty easy to get control of.
