Had the most wonderful time at class (never thought I would catch myself saying that). My 19th Century Imaging in London class met at the Fine Art Museum in St. Pete. The whole class is basically centered around the Thames exhibit with Monet and such. Our teacher is the curator that collaborated the whole thing.
Looked at the art for about an hour and a half then went over to the now-abandoned Haiku restaurant to discuss the exhibit and our assigned reading. I had eaten there once before so I was the only one who knew where the place was at where we were to meet at. They even went walking up and down the block looking for it before my little group showed up. I was their saviour! Haha.
Our teacher forked the bill for some gourmet appetizers and wine from the restaurant next door. I swear that's all we need every week to keep us all entertained for a 4 hour class... alcohol! It would make discussions so much easier
It was nice to hang out with my small group of classmates outside of the school realm. We had a lot of fun jokin' around with each other.
My drawing teacher said my drawings were very nicely executed (that woman grabbin' her tit) although the students didn't really have jack shit to say about it. Fuck em! Our model for today was about a 70 year old man... albeit an athletic-looking man, but still an old geezer. We were professional though... everyone kept their snickers inside.
The graduate assistant liked my old man rendition in ink... so that was cool. I think I'm actually starting to get better at this art thing.
