Um , I gunna ignore your ugly egg if you don't mind. But I shall let you know that I barely celebrated Easter at all this weekend, except for a few chocolate eggs here n there and a bit of lamb (NZ dad lol) for Sunday. So if that is the statement you are trying to make...My very limited recgonition of this "holiday" has left me feeling very liberated seeing as how I am not really religious, and it is a religious holiday. I don't feel like faking it. Even for the easter bunny.
I love your poem. But then, you know I love poems. lol, and my new blog shall be littered with them, because that seems to be the way I'm writing all my feelings down lately. Or I may work on them a bit before I post, whatever.
I continue to be frustrated with you and your (my shared) Brazillian friends when you post in your language. Because I don't like getting left out Translations...Translations. I still do not know what you posted in my comments, its taunting me grrr. That said, you want your own lil' private group, then fine Unfortunately, all I can speak is English, so I can't go form my own just to spite you...hehehe
I am so so sorry about the loss of your uncle. Find those recipes!!! Do not lose your culture, but of course you won't it is in you, but if you feel that the foods are so important, make an effort to learn it too. I don't know how much you know, but your mother is obviously a resource and it might be something worth making that effort for. Never to late to learn...but life always surprises you and catches you off guard by taking such wonderful people away when you least expect it. At least you have fond memories.
I am jealous you have so much culture in your life. Growing up "Canadian" means I just have a mish-mash of this and that, traditions "borrowed" from other people and places because we are a "mosaic" and not a melting pot, and really our foods seem to be *sigh* nasty fast foods. How brilliant. I am going to move to New Zealand one day to where my REAL family is.
Thanks you for the comments and testimonial. I don't quite know about the pics arrangement, but maybe one day when I start my travels I'll wander my way on down to you. I can share myself to model for photos, you can share some wonderful food.
