*settles into desk* Back to work, kids.
First, let me just say - God Bless jetBlue. Our flight on Friday departed JFK at 3:20p, and was set to arrive at 4:25p. About halfway through our flight, 30,000 ft in the air, they discovered that Buffalo airport had closed due to weather conditions, so we had to land in Syracuse. To make a forever long story short, we ended up hanging out in the Syracuse airport until 10:45p, then finally arrived in Buffalo at 11:30p. It was a total nightmare, but I have to say that jetBlue did a fantastic job of keeping everybody satisfied. They opened up the airport Sbarro and kept the hot pizzas coming, along with as much free soda and snacks and water as we could consume. Not only THAT, but they allowed us to clean out the plane's alcohol supply!! Suffice to say that they are one of the few companies in this world that understand the meaning of customer service.
Both Dan and I cleaned up this year. We had a lovely holiday; I got to see my Dad on Christmas day for the first time since I was about 11 years old, which was absolutely awesome. Dan's family was great, and his Uncle Tim showed up from Laguna Beach to surprise us at the last minute. Fun times.
Among all the fabulous stuff we got:
- a Black and Decker Bullseye
- martini glasses and a cocktail shaker
- checks and cash and gift certificates, oh my
- clothes (some awesome, some awful)
- a Garlic Genius
- new boxing gloves
- superman pyjama pants
- a terry bathrobe with rubber duckies on it
- Trivial Pursuit SNL Edition
- an Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa Package (woot!)
- replacement heads for my toothbrush
- a kitty sweater (that is, a sweater with a kitty on it, not a sweater for my kitty)
- an Aerobed (it's all for you, Nik!!)
God, I can't even remember it all. What a great way to end the year...we're beyond thankful
I hope everyone else had a beautiful holiday, too.
EDIT to say that the above ass is not mine, it's my little sister's. Sheesh.
