Ugh, I feel sick this morning.
So for those of you who may be wondering what this 'court' thing that I mentioned yesterday is all about....AGAIN with NYS landlords. You all know about my current landlord situation (see paragraph two) - this is an issue with my PREVIOUS landlord. The girl who moved into my old apartment after I left called me this weekend to let me know that a court summons had been slipped under the door for me. Apparently they're suing me for October and half of November's rent. According to a lease THAT DOES NOT EXIST. So I have to appear in court next Tuesday morning. The only good thing about all of this is that I'm engaged to a Law Student who thoroughly enjoys flexing his law muskles. He wrote a letter for me to send to the attorneys that are suing me - it involved a lot of 'frivolous'es and 'predatory's and 'negligent's. His brain makes me hot in my dark place.
With regards to my CURRENT landlord situation (sheesh)... just as I had hoped, Dan's friend-with-the-wicked-hookup seems to have come through. We looked at a place last week that appears to be perfect, and he says he may be able to hold on to it until February. This would be ideal, because then we can gradually move all our shit over (it's only 2 blocks from our current place) so we're not rushing at the last minute. Fingers crossed!
Oh, and did I mention that this place has a DISHWASHER?!??! Sweet.
In other news, I bought my Christmas cards last night at Target. They're super cute, but they refer to Christmas specifically and I prefer for my holiday cards to be generic - Happy Holidays or Enjoy the Season or something along those lines. And no Santas or the like. I guess it doesn't really matter that much, but I'm sensitive to offending anyone and their religious beliefs.
They'll get over it, right?
Enjoy the Season!
11 Days til' my birthday.....
