Three day workweek!
So I suppose this journal has turned into some kind of workout log. I can dig it!
Last night at the gym was productive. Because of the afore-mentioned knee/shin issues, I'm taking a break from running until further notice. After digging through the internet yesterday to diagnose my discomfort, I came up with THIS as a possibility, since the pain is different in either leg - shin splints on the left, knee pain on the right. As far as my right leg goes, it's most likely the following:
Patellar tendinitis is inflammation of one of the knee-joint tendons. Tendinitis occurs when tissue breakdown outpaces regrowth, and is caused by increased mileage, hills (especially downhills), and pace. Running through tendinitis will make it worse and prolong your recovery. But treated early, it can heal in a few weeks.
Which is why I busted out 45 minutes on the elliptical last night. It was fun - I'd forgotten how different a workout it is. I put the machine in random mode, cranked it up to level 10 and sweat like an ape. Fun times! Then abs, legs (including leg extentions and other exercises to strengthen my knees) and shoulders. Dan even stuck it out with me.
Enough with the freakin' gym already.
We're thinking about getting high and going to see Spongebob tonight. Thankfully, we don't have to be up super early tomorrow, so we can party if we wanna. We may even stop by our joint in the feeling moves us. Woot!
I had a dream about Twwly last night. I was in what seemed like Chinatown (here in the city) and after walking over this bridge/tunnel thing, I saw her standing in this little atrium - I think we were in some kind of train station. Anyway, when I saw her and she saw me, we smiled and hugged. She was on her cell talking to ymonster, so she let him go and we walked around a little. The dream sort of faded out after that, but I remember feeling very comfortable, like I was seeing an old familiar friend. Which I guess is kinda true. Kinda.
Shit-ass weather today - I had to use the khaki umbrella the tyke left here. I'm glad she's forgetful.
Happy Turkey Eve, dolls!
EDIT to add: I did a little friends list fall cleaning - if you're there, it means a) we've met and I dig you, b) we exchange comments on one another's journals more than once a season and I dig you, c) you're an SG that I think is purdy and I can't bring myself to take you off even if we never talk or d) I think you're super cool and would like to pursue some kind of acquaintanceship, if only online.
