Fine, fine - no more lyrical journal entries.
Sheesh.
First and foremost, I'd like to send a quick shout-out to Heather. She's my all-time favorite SG, and it'll stay that way, archived or not.
So I felt like I had a productive day today. I went on a job interview in Manhattan - it was at a Pilates Studio, so I was uber-excited. Things went well, and she was ready to put me on the payroll, until I dropped the Maple Leaf Bomb. It amazes me that with so many illegal aliens working in this city that no one wants to help out a cute Canadian chick.
Anyway, I kept my head up and made my way back to Brooklyn after a quick Starbucks fix. When I got back, I stopped at this fun little Aquarium/Petstore on 9th street. I ended up getting a bunch of new fishies for our new tank at home - some tetras and neons and angels and barbs and a couple of eel-looking things. I made sure to check with the fish-man that everyone was compatible, and he gave me the thumbs up, so home I went with my bag of fins.
When I got home, I put the bags into the tank so's they could all get aquainted-like, and next thing I know, the big eel-guy is muching on one of the fancy-tailed-guppy things! I freaked out, naturally, and took him back to the fish store. They were super nice about it, though, and I got to pick out 4 new fish. All's well that ends well - I have a fun tank now. All colorful and alive!
After the tank was settled, I refreshed myself, printed out some resumes, and took a stroll down 5th Avenue. I applied at a few places, mostly offices and such. I walked by Freyja's place a few times in the process! One prospect I'm really excited about - I applied at a Veterinary Office to be an assistant. It's kind of a coincidence, because I've been putting serious thought into going back to school to become a vet's assistant. Hopefully they'll overlook the citizenship thing for the time being.
I'm workin' on it, dammit!
Yeah, so that's that. I've been spending most of my time organizing the new place and sweating at the gym. It's not as fabulous as one would think...I want a job.
Everyone think good thoughts!
