So... I'm FLOODED in my house!
I've tried to leave twice today. Once at 6am for my morning job and then again at noon for my afternoon job, but both roads that leave out of my complex are blocked off! One by a tree being fallen (they aren't even letting bicyclists through!) And the other by 2 ft of water. There is a bunch of places just like this all over Central VA!
My complex is dry, but there's no place I can go and the buses that come out this way aren't running. I guess it was all of this rain last night that made out power go out, plus this 65 degree weather that melted the remnants of the 2009 blizzard.
Have some pictures from yesterday when it was just raining and I went to audition for "Pippin". I might also want to preface these pictures by letting you know I got called back to play a sexually provocative grandma - oh yeah, I'm a cougar in my late 20's = creepster.
There's pre audition:

And of course, post shower/post audition in my souvenir sweatshirt from my NYC audition at the New School:

I didn't really get to do anything in NYC other than audition and sleep but me and my friend did make a go at being a little touristy. I took her to where I used to live and we took pictures - forgive our slackerness, we rode a train for 6 hours and then walked around the city for 5 hours, so we didn't really dress ala "Sex and the City". BUT you CAN see why I want to shoot a set here, right? It's just SO PRETTY and perfect!

When we got home on Saturday night, my friend had to work, but I went out to my favorite hookah bar which has a brand new back smoking room to comply with no smoking rules in restaurants and bars. It's GORGEOUS. Is it so wrong I want to shoot a set in there? It's like a little genie's room or harem or something, it's just so cozy. Linky below:

Anyway, I met a couple of guys, we smoked some hookah together and chatted. Then I went to a bar where I wanted to write a play for "Barhoppers" since the location IS the bar. And I met two girls who said I was pretty and bought me 2 whiskeys. Added to the 2 I had already bought, my poor friend got off work and drove me home. She's a saint!
I'm a sucker for compliments and free hookahs/whiskey. I'm so easily pliable! So ladies, don't be dangerous, but if you go out to places alone, people will meet you, say you're pretty and buy you stuff. SO WEIRD - I'm not used to this type of behavior. I'm used to being a social misanthrope and being bosom buddies with my laptop in public. Oh well, New Year, new things, right?
But things are good, always stressful but good, like everyone else's lives.

Meanwhile, I wound up with an audition tomorrow -- that I heard about today.
