funny thing: cats don't actually like to wear Christmas sweaters (or, i suspect, any sweaters at all).
however, being the awesome cat wrangler than i am, i managed to get the sweaters (and Lenny's reindeer antlers) on with only minimal damage to my person
and thus the entertainment began. my cat in college, for whom i originally bought the red sweater that Win is wearing, used to be so ornery when i tried to get him to wear it. he would literally, as soon as i put him down on the ground, simply topple over on his side and refuse to move until i took the sweater off.
my current cats, however, moved quite well in the sweaters (unfortunately, this made it difficult to get very clear pictures). and so i give you The Amazing Besweatered Cats (and Lenny).
Ollie got the newest sweater, mostly because he is too hefty to fit into the red sweater without considerable discomfort on both our parts (mostly on my parts though, since he has pointy bits).

he seems to be the only one of my cats that is not afraid of the camera and will actually sit still and let me shoot him from close up.

finally, he got irritated with the sweater and began his campaign to claw at my fuzzy pink sock until i took it off.

Winston got the distinguished red turtleneck with a lovely pattern of beads embroidered to look like snowflakes.

it seems like it is slightly harder for him to walk in this sweater, but it's double cute and i couldn't resist putting it on him.

Lenny is still too teeny to wear any of the Christmas stuff i've seen, so i made him a pair of reindeer antlers that attached to his collar.

he also really likes playing in the bathroom. he's crying because i would not let him in there. he destroys rolls of toilet paper like nobody's business...

i hope everyone is having a relatively happy and sane run-up to the holidays
i definitely am (although it's only because i don't have any money to buy presents for anyone. i usually spend forever trying to find that perfect gift. this year i think i might bake cookies or make cards or do something crafty)
i'm so excited about this saturday! one of my oldest friends is getting married to a fantastic guy, and she is just over the moon, which makes me happy
and then next monday, my oldest brother is going to come up to Madison to visit for the first time. i'm SO super thrilled to see him- he's just finishing up his first semester of college and i haven't seen him more than once or twice sine the beginning of august. he's grown up to be such an awesome person and i adore spending time with him (i'm gonna shut up now cause i could gush about the boy for hours and hours).
then on wednesday i'm going to drive back to IL with him and stay until Christmas. which is exciting, cause i'll get to spend time with my family and our dog, who i miss like crazy, and i should be able to see at least a couple friends from HS, since everyone is coming home for the holidays.
unfortunately, i probably won't be able to log onto SG very often at all starting roughly on saturday. my brother is going to be sleeping in the basement, where both my computer and the couch live, and then i'll be home, where getting caught on SG would be a cause for alarm for my parents (and probably a cause of embarrassment for my brothers). i'll pop on when i can, but if i don't get a chance, everyone have happy and safe holidays
