I've been super lazy about the interwebs lately. probably a combination of things, including a whopper of a menstrual migraine and continuing back problems that have kept me from being near a computer for any length of time.
unfortunately i don't have much to report, as i have spent most of the last week resting and being boring.
i tried to bleach my hair blond.....baaaaad idea. instead of ending up with blond hair that is closer to my natural color, my hair is currently a horrid shade of orange-ish blond, except for the roots, which are almost platinum. i've been dying my hair by myself for years, so i wasn't too concerned, and i spent a looong time looking for a lightener that was meant for darker hair. alas, i do not think that i am currently meant to rock the blond look. i'm planning on redying it auburn, which should, theoretically, cover up all the problems. but it makes me kinda sad. i love having red hair, but i miss being a blondie sometimes.
i would include a photo of the hideous mistake, but honestly i don't want to scare anyone or have anyone injured while falling out of their seat laughing at my "lovely" new look
for reference, this is about what the color looks like (although it looks worse on me 'cause its too close to my skin color. i look like a monochromatic freak )
in news that does not involve me disfiguring myself, i just got a gorgeous necklace from etsy
i adore lilies, and am always looking for simple, unique jewelry. the calla lily is a personal favorite of mine for many reasons and i can't wait to get my necklace!
hopefully i will be a bit more active in the future. i have a lot of stuff going on in the next few weeks, including a baby shower for my cousin's wife and the wedding of one of my oldest friends. i have a dress that i totally love that i'm planning on wearing to both functions (with leggings under it for the shower).
it's not quite as sexy as i generally go for, but i thought it was cute, which'll do for now. at this point i would rather be comfortable physically (since showers and weddings tend to make me mentally fidgety)
i have some adorable heels that i think will match, but i won't know for sure till i see the dress in person. which should be in a day or two.
i've been trying to lose weight for a while now, but i keep getting sidelined with either back injuries or migraines. i have been eating better, mostly, but i really want to start working out. i think i have a pretty good set of motivations now though. in addition to wanting to be healthier, i have a tat that i want to get that i can't really commit to until i've lost weight...it would just look funny at the moment, plus if i get it now and then lose, it'll be all distorted. so yay for motivation!
hope the holiday season is treating you all well!

Blond, yeah NO!! Your are definitely more an auburn. Besides, auburn is a winter color, blond is for summer. As for losing weight, I struggled with mine most of my adult life. In high school I played football and worked out constantly, so I was super buff and could eat whatever I wanted, but when I went to college I had to work full time while going to school, so something had to give time wise and that something was the heavy workout schedule. Consequently, I put on weight hand over fist, because I still had the appetite from when I was hitting the gym everyday. Anyway, I tried every kind of diet you can imagine from Weight Watchers to living on liquids with Medi-Fast. I would lose weight, but the minute I stopped it all piled right back on, because I didn't change my diet on a perminate basis to fit my lifestyle. One day a friend told me about "Body For Life." Without a doubt, this is the best program in the world and it works to help you lose the weight and keep it off. I lost over 80 pounds in about 9 months and I've kept it off for over 8 years now. Check out the website, bodyforlife.com. It takes a little planning, but it doesn't take too long to get the hang of it. You eat health, good food six times a day coupled with just a little moderate exercise and the weight comes off. The program is just what it says it is, Body For Life!!
