i'm clumsy.
actually, that doesn't even begin to describe it. i am, at times, butterfingered. graceless. gawky. inelegant. i am, generally speaking, uncoordinated. (i also like to use thesauruses.) i tripped over my own feet so often in grade school that my mother made me sign up for ballet classes to improve my balance (by the way, this worked, but the effects wore off a couple years after i quit-i was definitely not built for ballet and was rather oafish next to the other little girls )
i regularly slip, hit my head on things, trip over things (more often than not, my cats....although i think they try to trip me). i've injured my back so many times and in so many ways that i don't know that i can remember them all.
i was supposed to drive down to my parents' house in chicago this afternoon, after i made the delicious sweet potato casserole that was assigned to me. i was making those sweet potatoes this afternoon, barefoot (as i usually am in the house). As i walked over to the stove to put the potatoes in the boiling water, i stepped on a couple of peels that had fallen on the floor and i hadn't seen. i slid and fell backwards into the island, hitting my lower back (where i tend to get back injuries) on the island.
as a preface, i'm fine after some rest and heat and ice and tylenol. but i couldn't get to my cell phone, and i ended up spending about an hour on the floor before i could get up and get to the couch.
so now i'm going to have to rush tomorrow to get down to IL, and i won't get to spend much time with my lil brothers, and i'm missing the get-together with my high school friends tonight (although Amarena isn't gonna be there either, so the overall awesomeness level will be slightly lower than usual. hopefully we can make plans for christmas-ish. the HS crew is so much fun, and i always end up with a sweet-n-low packet on my forehead when i see them (playing-and winning- lick-it, stick-it).
aaaanyway, i was bored and thought i would write a lil bit about my ridiculousness. everyone have a great thanksgiving!!

I tend not to fall that often, but I'm constantly hooking my clothing on things, getting tangled up, walking into things, and generally making an ass out of myself. I hurt my back a lot in my 20s, but surprisingly it hasn't been so bad in my 30s & 40s. I think once it healed it got stronger, but I kept reinjuring it for a while until it fully healed.
