Mr. Ray Burton is the father of Metallica's second, and most famous, bassist, Cliff Burton. Ray turns 94 today and is still an important part of the Metallica family, regularly visiting and being visited by Lars, Kirk and James (in addition to seeing the guys in concert). Ray could have taken all of Cliff's royalties and lived a very comfortable life in the years since his son's death. Instead, he set up a scholarship fund in Cliff's name to give kids a music education. What a cool guy! Rock on (for many more years), Ray! 👊
