my great grandfather
veteran of 3 wars(WWII, korea, vietnam)
dead 11/11/04. exactly one week before my birthday
man serves in 3 of the most brutal and bloody wars and survives only to start coughing up blood one day and a little over a month later he passes away. 92 years old. of course, we didn't find out he had lung cancer til last week and we wouldn't have known he went to the clearing at the end of the path if my dad wasn't up that way hunting and stopped in to see him. he died at 5:30 am and my dad got there around 11. but no, none of my moonshine guzzling, teeth losing, not telling us anything relatives decided they could make a phone call. and on top of it all, my 95 year old great grandmother is still alive but her children are writing her off and want nothing to do with her. she's healthy but just needs a little help and they're all to fucked up in the head to want to take care of thier own mother. bah enough.
go steelers!

That's some crazy strange relatives. Damn, where are those peoples hearts?!?!
Peace and respect to your grandfather.
To serve in three wars... hell, to live through three wars, that is worthy of more respect than can ever be given.
