Has anyone ever heard a Mexican Jumping Bean actually hatching? If that is even what you would call it... about a year ago I got my kids one of those stupid little containers with four beans in it that you see near every cash register in any local shop...
to my suprise the kids managed not to loose or destroy them. The beans had a nice little spot on top of the entertainment center, jumping strong. The other day I noticed that I had not heard them bouncing around for a while and assumed they had expired. I looked at them again today and they had all hatched (i don't know why but I didn't even think that was possible!)... and there were 4 little moths in the container with the bean shells...each shell had a perfectlly round hole cut out of the side for thier escape
the kids thought it was really cool and the let all of the moths go...so if you hear any reports of a mexican jumping bean moth infestation around kitsap county... I'll deny everthing!
