Well finally yesterday Mr. Snuffy let me pet him. Today he let Natalie pet him. He is using his litter box and eating his food and exploring the garage (hence the foot prints all over my shiney just washed S2000!!). Things are going well.
Mr. Snuffy Update:
Yesterday I gave him a little canvas bag filled with catnip to see if he would like to play with it. He seemed none to interested. He has a fetish for "baby's breath" flowers but having never had catnip before he just seemed completely disinterested.
Today we put out a cardboard scratching pad for him. We sprinkled it with just the tiniest pinch of catnip. THE MOST HILARIOUS THING I EVER SEEN ensued. At first he was not sure what to make of it but as I scratched it he started scratching.... then he started scratching and sniffing more... then more.. soon he was laying on it, rolling on it, trying to tear it apart with his front claws, back claws and mouth all at the same time. He went crazy.... so I think it is safe to say that Mr. Snuffy does like catnip afterall. Just hilarious. I think we are going to let him in the house for a bit today so he can explore his new home from the garage.
He can stay in the garage at night and when we are at work but be in the house when we are home, just until I make sure he does not take those massive claws to the leather furniture.

Orange tabbies are great. They tend to be quite affectionate, once they bond to you. And they're smart...and playful, too! Sounds as if you have won him over with the feline "kind." (Stop bogarting the kitty nip, man!)
Yeah, the St. Johns/inner-NE area really has been transformed in a positive way, thanks to urban pioneers such as yourself. I guess what makes me sad is the ongoing disappearance of farmland and other green spaces in the Portland/Metro region. And too many southern California-style housing developments, with lots of enormous, ugly homes. Talk about destroying that which made Portland special in the first place! It makes no sense!
Tirade over.
Have a great weekend, guy.
Yeah, I couldn't bring myself to go to the Body Works thing when it was here in Denver. A little too squeamish, I am embarrassed to admit. Guess I don't want to be reminded of red, stretchy muscle tissue every time I sit down to eat a plate of spaghetti!
Sounds like you are enjoying a pretty active Summer. Been hot as Hell, here. 99 degrees yesterday. Broke a record! Makes me wanna just hunker down in front of a fan, put my feet in a bucket of ice cubes, and drink cold beer. Ack!
(Perfect for catching up on my summer reading, though!)
Well, take care! My best to Mr. Snuffy!
PS: Is he still going crazy with the spraying? I have found that many of the enzymes that are supposed to break down that terrible smell -- and help deter the spraying behavior -- don't work all that well, unfortunately. Vinegar sometimes works.
