Well... well...well..
I think I am living amongst the fastest gentrification of a neighborhood I have ever seen...
Case in point, of the 9 houses immediately around mine 7 have sold within the last 12 months (5 in the last 3 months) at much higher prices than the neighborhood used to get AND all to people in their 30's and predomintly white.
Second. There are two large condo complexes being built and a couple new coffee shops and possibly one restaurant in the next month of so.
Third. This was and kind of still is a lower middle class blue collar working neighborhood, and what did I see recently down the street? Someone built a new building to house..... A Yoga studio. Now maybe it is just me but I grew up lower middle working class and Yoga was not big on our agenda... and nor does it seem to be for my father and brother who while a bit better off still mostly work in and amongst that class.
4th... here is the ringer. One of the people selling their house told me they were moving because of ... and I quote "All the damn white colonists like you moving into the neighborhood".
Rapid gentrification + class clashes + racial clashes = Good TImes!!
