Jealousy and Patience

Jealousy lingers by the bed
wearing a yellow gown.
On the pillow she places a flower from her hair.

Patience traces trails of silver
over her green dress, sitting on damp grass.
Jealousy appears by her side, squishing silver between skinny toes

and kisses her softly. Patience withers and dies.
The yellow gown is discarded as Jealousy slips into green
and walks though the garden easily, wilting the flowers behind.
