Hey everybody!!
Week 3 of my radio show went okay. It was kinda up and down. The weekend and holiday were extra long and hard for me. I have to be honest, I'm really not dealing too well with the loss of my uncle. I've been pretty up and down. I'll be happy one minute, numb the next. My girlfriend has been an absolute saint to me through this. I shudder to think how much worse I'd be if I didn't have her love and support.
Anyways...my show. The school had been closed down due to the Christmas holiday and I went in Wednesday morning to find that we had lost power, so I had to reboot the system. I did just fine with it and went into my first talk break without a hitch. Just before my second break, the director of the school came in to check and make sure I got everything up and running okay. The only issue I was having was with receiving requests, so while he was playing with the system I went into my next talk break. I have to say, I was a little nervous being that this guy is 1) the director of the school and 2) a guy who has been well loved and successful in radio for over 30 years. Well, my break couldn't have gone any better. He was very impressed with my delivery, my voice, and my control. He was surprised to hear that it was only my 3rd week on-air. I was giddy when he left the room. It was all downhill from there. I started thinking about my uncle and I just didn't feel like myself after that. I didn't get any negative feedback from my PD this week, but I still just felt off. Hopefully it goes better next show.
That night, I had a date night with my girl. I love date night!! We went out to eat and proceeded to have one of the WORST dining experiences EVER!! We waited 45 minutes for our food, which wasn't cooked right, so I sent it back. 15 minutes later my waitress returned with a sandwich that was very much NOT what I ordered. It took her 10 minutes to come back for me to tell her that this wasn't my food, then I waited another 15 minutes for the right food. When she finally brought the check, I asked to speak with the manager and it took him almost 20 minutes to come talk to me. Needless to say, our bill was free and we even got free dessert. Redemption!!
Last night, me and the Mrs (almost) went out again to take in some UFC, which was a FANTASTIC show!! We had a great time.
I swear, I don't know what I'd do without that girl. She has been absolutely amazing to me and I love her.
Well...gotta run! I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!!

I wish I could say something to make the pain of your loss go away... it sounds like your uncle was an amazing guy, and he will live on with you forever in your heart.
I just bookmarked your link, and will set myself a reminder for Wednesday. Your man Hypersage has been pimpin' your show on his blog, so I can't wait to hear you!
Thanks, and loves

You will get through it, I had an Aunt who died when I was still at school. We were very close and I took it badly. We'd had an argument a while before she died and I never got to say the things I thought I'd have time to say. It gets better though. I'm sure that your Uncle would have been proud of the way you driving your life forward.
If you need anything, you know where I am.
The UFC was awesome, I loved the Liddell/ Silva match and I am so glad that GSP won. He's one of my favourite fighters (the fact that he beat Matt Hughes helped too
Happy New Year.
