I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do now that I've got this account.
I've been participating a little in the forums and some groups, but it's the social networking/dating aspects of this thing that befuddle me. It's not like Facebook or something where you can just find people you already know, add them, and go from there. Do I just send people friend requests because I think they seem neat based on their profile, knowing hardly anything else about them? I feel weird doing that. "Hi, we don't know each other, but let's be friends."
I also feel weird sending friend requests to the Suicide Girls themselves that I like, heh.
I've jumped around from message board to message board, trying to find a little online community that I can actually be a part of and maybe fit into. It never seems to work, really. I always have issues fitting in, even with people who share similar interests. I'd LIKE to overcome that, be more social, be less of a stuttering moron who freaks out in large gatherings, but uh, so far it's not going so well. I'll just keep trying, though.
I think the biggest thing, weirdly enough, is that I just want people to check out my comics and my art. Which is maybe a little silly, I don't know.
And, at the very least, since no one I know is on Suicide Girls, at least I know I'm free to blog like this whenever I want, rant and ramble and piss and moan away without worry, right?
YES.

I found the friends that I have so far by checking out blogs. Also, if you friend someone and decide you don't like them you can just end the friendship. You can definintely find some fun people on groups too. And there is nothing wrong with just friending people randomly ^_^ As far as the SGs themselves go, I guess you should find your faves, mark them and comment on their sets and blogs for a while before trying to friend them. Familiarity helps. Post some of your art in your blogs and in your pics, if people like what they see they will let you know and you'll probably get some friends out of it.
