... well, what else do possums play?
Also cleaned out a science experiment. I'm sure new forms of life were evolving in my "garden in the guttering'. A nice tea tree ... well, tree ... some ferns, grasses, mosses ..... silica based life forms etc.
I knew I had a possum, from the dulcet tones of his little footsteps on the tin (yeah right). I get bats (flying foxes), which actually are a form of primate and bloody crows. Better than my old house. We had 2 pythons, wild, not tame, 2.5 and 3.5 m long (that's more than 10 ft) they came and went as they pleased through a hole in a roof tile. Mind, I did see one 4.5 to 5 m long one night, stretched right across the street.
Snakes get big when you hear the roof creak and you see it move under their weight. They lurve the ceiling above the bathroom. I got suspicious to their size by the balls of regurgitated small mammals lying in the ceiling. Then I saw the snakes. Make a hand puppet movement with your hand, open it up as wide as possible, yep, a mouth bigger than a mans outstretched hand.
We had some rain yesterday, lots actually. My kids put on there togs (swimmers, boardies, speedos) and we went out for a splash. It was one of those roads awash, up to your ankles downpour (or cankles you some). Luckily, no spiders. We get some HUGE huntsman and wolfs .... and a lot of big fat redbacks.
The rain prompted me to clean my gutters, well after they overflowed. Need to get them sorted before I get some water tanks installed.
Right. Am off to Roma (western Queensland) tomorrow for a few days.
Catch you kids soon.
Possums ......... I've got em. Found one hiding in my roof guttering .... playing
