thought i'd take a break from just talking about myself in my blog and share some poetry i wrote a loooong time ago. it's strange looking back on what you've written and seeing how things have changed...and how they haven't. anyway this poem doesn't really have a title...
Shamelessly shallow
Eyes full of judgement
But hearts basically hollow
Shell walk in the door
They look ceiling to floor
At the clothes she wore
Do they want her anymore?
Do they want to look
At the books she reads,
The things she loves,
The life she leads?
No, just cynical evaluation
No final salutation
But really how can she blame them
When theyre just a product
Of their nations
Ideals
Dont care how she feels
Dont care if shes real
Just see the appeal
Of small hips and thighs
Big boobs and bright eyes
When will they see demise
Of their thinking,
Of their verdict upon blinking?
No matter, she walks on
Leaves them behind
As she talks on
That cell with the one man who can tell
What it really takes
To be the girl who breaks
Limits and hearts
Brain, heart and soul
The only parts
That take hold
In his memory
Of exactly what it takes to be
A real woman.
