PANTIES AND THE BLUES
"Don't nobody know my troubles but God." Heard an old street performer singing this today. I only know it from Moby's 'Natural Blues'. It stopped me, HAD to listen. Thought of all the many stories of New Orleanians, pre and post-katrina. So many stories, so much heartbreak, so much this city inspires.
I missed the St. Pat's parade again, which is mostly just a group dressed up in green and going from bar to bar. There's one parade that throws beads and PANTIES to the crowd! I really wanted some shamrock undies. God, I love this city.
Okay, I want the undies UNLESS it's collected from the ones tourist lose when they come to sin city, because as you know, things DO happen.
