I have the intro song from "Skate or Die" on the Commodore 64 stuck in my head. Why? I have no idea, but that's not making it go away. I used to love that game back in the day. I remember playing it for hours on end, trying to beat my score on the half pipe. I remember getting to the point where I could get the maximum possible score on a pretty regular basis.
Those were the good old days. I remember playing with that computer 'til it broke, then getting another one, and playing that one 'til it broke too. To think that thing only had 64k of RAM yet was so usable is mind-boggling. I mean, the average pic on this site is bigger than 64k. 64k is less than half a second of audio on a CD. I've got over 64k in journal entries on this site, and I don't even update much.
Yet back then, that was all I needed for years and years of videogames, BBSes and Q-link, which was a precursor to ye olde consumer interwebnet. You could even download porn on it. It was really crappy porn, and you could barely tell what the pictures were supposed to be, but it was out there.
