I never once used the word "gringo" before this calendar year, and now I find myself self-applying it regularly. I guess that's what hanging out with a bunch of latinos will do to you.
*abrupt subject change*
Set up audio and recording at my buddy John's party this past weekend. Audio sounded great, but I think the recording got screwed up. It would seem that DJs only know how to adjust volume upward, so I'm sure everything is clipped to hell, judging by what I saw on the levels during the party. Haven't had time to get back over there and check the recordings (I left before the music stopped), but I'm not optimistic. Oh well, live and learn. Everything is set up properly here, but I wasn't using my normal recording rig at the party and everything was rushed.
No biggie, everyone seemed to have a good time. One of the DJs there has an indie record label back home on the west coast. He seemed receptive to my music. I need to work on mastering some songs and getting them out to him. Would be nice to get a little cash back after all I've invested in this hobby.
